The Darvas József Literary Memorial House, the exhibition space of the Szántó Kovács János Regional Museum can be found under 74 Dózsa György street. Writer and politician József Darvas spent his childhood in this house.
In the front room of the house we can see the furniture of the family. Photos and documents about the parents, children and grandchildren are also displayed here. The middle room is the kitchen - equipped in the traditional way of the early 20th century. The third room is the memorial room, where photos, certificates, books and other items tell us about the life work of József Darvas. In the back of the building there is wheelwright workshop formerly used by the writer's brother.
In the rear part of the garden there is a building called Békés County Literary Collection -, the main purpose of which is to collect the manuscripts and objective relics of poets, writers and artists working or living here. The collection is first of all visited by researchers on prior notice.
