The exhibition occupies a ground-floor hall in the Múzeum utca wing of the Debrecen Direct ore of the Hungarian Post PLC, opposite the Déri Museum. Aladár Munich Kerek, designed this fine building, completed and 1931, in the Historicist style fashionable at the time, which blended well with the historic surroundings of the city. The exhibition, which opened in 1995, presents the Debrecen aspects of Hungarian postal and telecommunications history, through the postal items, documents and tableaux arranged around a little post office, so to speak, in the centre of the hall.
An interesting feature is the Rezső Soós memorial room. his shows annually changing selections from the 225,000-item philatelic collection that the botany professor, twice a Kossuth Pize-winner, bequeathed to the city of Debrecen, under the care of the Stamp Museum.
