József Rippl-Rónai (1861-1927) Exhibition
My topics come from intimacy, because this is what I like and respect. The number of objects I want to paint are countless as I am interested in everything that surrounds me and changes pale reality. I think that only those things can document our lives that we live with, and this is why I like painting them.
József Rippl-Rónai
The collective exhibition came to life on occasion of the 100th birthday of one of the main works of art by the painter József Rippl-Rónai Still-life with Mask . In addition, the exhibition presents a number of significant works from the oeuvre of the painter; just to mention a few My Father and Uncle Piacsek with a Glass of Wine (Hungarian National Gallery) and the Zorka with Black Gloves (Rippl-Rónai Museum). In addition, Tamás Kieselbach lent us the Still-life with Orange which amends the Still-life with Mask owned by the Municipal Museum of Art.
The visitors will also see works of art that have never been shown before. Portraits of literary men like Frigyes Karinthy, Aladár Schöpflin and a number of excellent graphics and ink drawings are to be shown, too.
A rich cultural program accompanies the exhibition, with creative museum pedagogy activities and family museum afternoons.
